George Digweed continued his domination of European shooting by retaining his FITASC Compak title in Italy on Sunday.

It was the Wittersham man’s fifth win in the event, taking his tally of titles to 18, finishing ahead of runner-up, fellow Briton Richard Faulds who won a sudden-death shoot-off with Marco Battisti of Italy.

Digweed shot 198/200 on the final day to clinch victory, having been 18th at one stage.

In winning the European Championship, Digweed also secured the European Cup Final.
