Kent athlete Lisa Dobriskey underlined her credentials as one of Britain’s top middle distance runners by winning the 1,500m at the British Grand Prix in Gateshead.
The Ashford athlete was fourth with one lap to go, before making her move with 300m to cross the line first in 4.09:68 yesterday (Sunday).
Dobriskey, who finished one place off a podium position at the Bejing Olympics, said: "I wanted to come here today to get finishing fourth in the Olympic final out of my head.
"I felt very good in the race and was strong at the end. I wanted to run well in front of home fans so I am glad I won.”
