Detectives investigating a rape at a shopping centre have charged a man.
Kingsley Stewart, 31, of Croydon Road, Penge, appeared at Croydon magistrates' court yesterday (Friday) charged with rape at The Glades, Bromley.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Croydon Crown Court on July 10.
It follows a report that a 21-year-old woman was raped by a man at the shopping centre in the High Street on Tuesday, April 19.
She is currently being supported by specially trained officers.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "Stewart was also charged with four counts of sexual assault in relation to incidents where women reported being touched inappropriately by a man in the Bromley and Penge between Friday, April 29, and Tuesday, May 3."
The women are aged between 17 and 53.
