He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Croydon Crown Court on July 10.

It follows a report that a 21-year-old woman was raped by a man at the shopping centre in the High Street on Tuesday, April 19.

She is currently being supported by specially trained officers.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "Stewart was also charged with four counts of sexual assault in relation to incidents where women reported being touched inappropriately by a man in the Bromley and Penge between Friday, April 29, and Tuesday, May 3."

The women are aged between 17 and 53.
