Person dies after being hit by train near Kidbrooke railway station

A person has died after being hit by a train running between London and Kent at the weekend.

Police were called to the line near Kidbrooke railway station following reports of a casualty at around 8.20 am on Saturday.

Services running via Bexleyheath were cancelled and diverted between Dartford and Lewisham following the incident.

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesperson said: “Police were called to the line near Kidbrooke railway station following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Paramedics also attended, but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

“Rail services on Saturday morning were cancelled via Bexleyheath as emergency services dealt with the incident.”
