Trains from Bexley diverted through Bexleyheath due to vehicle crashing into railway bridge

A trainline has been reopened following a temporary closure due to a vehicle crashing into a bridge.

Trains were diverted by Southeastern while Network Rail engineers checked the tracks in Crayford near Bexley for damage to the line.

The incident was reported around 3.48pm with the line reopened by 4pm.

Southeastern Rail said lines may still be disrupted until 4.30pm

Services were diverted through Bexleyheath instead of via Sidcup.

Alternative routes are still being offered via replacement bus services taking passengers from Dartford to Lewisham.

Emergency services have been asked for details regarding the crash.
