Woman falls from balcony onto pensioner at The Glades shopping centre in Bromley

A woman has been taken to hospital after reportedly falling from a shopping centre balcony onto a pensioner.

She is believed to have “fallen from a height” at about 2.15pm yesterday (July 24) at The Glades in Bromley.

Police attended the scene as well as three ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, a volunteer emergency responder team and an incident response officer.

The woman who fell is believed to be in her 20s and was taken to a south London hospital where her condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

Another woman, in her 80s, was treated at the scene for injuried sustained in the fall.

A trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance was dispached, which consisted of a paramedic and a doctor in a car.

The first paramedic arrived in around three minutes.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We treated a patient at the scene and took her to a major trauma centre as a priority. We also treated a second patient and took her to a local hospital.”

Inquiries into the circumstances of the incident continue.
