18 charged with drug offences after police stage early-morning raids

Ten people from Canterbury and two from Herne Bay have been charged with drug offences following a police operation aimed at disrupting the supply of heroin and crack cocaine.

The 12 were among 18 charged after early morning raids, last Thursday, involving officers from east Kent and Kent Police’s serious and organised crime unit. Officers also seized £8,000 believed to be the proceeds of crime.

Addresses in Ramsgate, Margate, Surrey and south-east London were also targeted.

Those charged appeared before magistrates in Canterbury and Medway last Friday and have been remanded in custody to reappear on various dates.

Those charged with supplying Class A drugs were:

Justin Vincent, 32, of Whitstable Road, Canterbury

Martin George, 39, of Whitstable Road, Canterbury

Matthew Beaney, 24, of Whitstable Road, Canterbury

Klaus Wilks, 26, of Whistable Road, Canterbury

Emily Thompson, 27, of Pine Tree Avenue, Canterbury

John Culver, 33, of Sutton Road, Hersden, near Canterbury

Faibian Roach, 30, of Merchants Way, Canterbury

Toni Miller, 20, of Station Road East, Canterbury

Gemma Hutchings, 20, of Drying Shed Lane, Canterbury

Craig Cook, 33, of High Street, Herne Bay

Christopher Gregory, 26, of Pier Avenue, Herne Bay

Jonathan Draper, 31, of Alfred Close, Canterbury, is charged with offering to supply a Class A drug.
