But it has since been announced the former X Factor contestant will not be appearing due to her being heavily pregnant.

However, organisers say the star would love to return to the city in the "near future".

A statement by Canterbury Pride says: "As Alexandra nears the full-term of her pregnancy, the decision has been taken to avoid any last-minute disappointment, just in case she is unable to perform on the day.

"Alexandra sends her love and a apologies to everyone who was looking forward to seeing her and says she would love to return with an incredible show for Pride Canterbury in the near future.

"We hope so too and would love to welcome Alexandra to the Dane John Gardens once she is back performing.

"We are so excited for us all to be together on Saturday with the rest of our incredible line up of artists like Baga Chipz, Denise Van Outen, Jimbo the Drag Clown and other surprises to be revealed on the day."

Celebrations start tomorrow with a parade at 11.30am and local organisations and groups can register to take part.

The party will then continue until 7pm at Dane John Gardens with performances from RuPaul's Drag Race stars Baga Chipz, Jujubee, and Jimbo, as well as Kent's very own drag superstar River Medway.

There will also be an over 18s after party event held at Glitterbomb.

The first Pride in the county was held in Canterbury's Dane John Gardens in 2005 and was called 'Picnic In The Park' .
