CANTERBURY will be soon be seeing a genuine American police car on its streets.
Sound and lighting engineer Tony Seymour bought a 1997 Chevrolet Lumina from a man who hires US vehicles out to people who want to recreate American scenes, especially film-makers.
The 31-year-old, of Bingley Court, is in the throes of doing up the car and making it roadworthy and will put New York Police Department badges on it.
“Quite a lot of people have a car to tinker with and as I’m interested things like this, the police car is mine,” former Kent College pupil Tony said.
“I’m hoping to have it ready by the summer and have it registered and on the road.”
