Arrests after discovery of suspected cannabis factory

Three men and a woman were arrested on Tuesday after a suspected cannabis factory was discovered in Faversham Road, Seasalter.

Officers were alerted by a strong smell of the drug coming from a property where more than 100 plants were found in various stages of cultivation, including some growing in a roof space.

A 49-year-old man from the Whitstable area, a 41-year-old man from Rochester and a 26-year-old man from Folkestone were arrested just after midnight on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.

A 47-year-old woman from the Whitstable area was arrested at 1.40am on suspicion of producing a controlled drug.

Those arrested are all currently being held in police custody.
