A police spokesman said officers were called to a report of a man 'lying in a field' but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Trisha Cheeseworth, who lives nearby, said: "I regularly walk my dog around the field.

"There have been migrants camping here in the past who have left a lot of rubbish behind when they move on.
"I have been trying to keep my dog away but two or three days ago I first noticed what I thought was a pile of rubbish in the middle of the field.
"I had intended to go back without my dog to clear it up.
"This morning, another man was walking nearby and he went over to it.
"He came back and said 'it's a body'. We then called the police."
Enquiries are ongoing and forensics are still at the scene.
The death is currently being treated as non-suspicious.
