Bomb scare drama at university

The Kent University campus is open again today after the library was evacuated when a suspicious package was found.

Bomb disposal experts carried out a controlled explosion yesterday afternoon.

Students and staff had to be evacuated from the Templeman Library after police received a call from staff at 2.30pm.

Bomb disposal experts arrived at around 4pm to make the package safe.

An investigation is under way.

The disruption came at the height of exam time with many students still on campus.
