Canterbury teen arrested on suspicion of rape after Dane John Gardens searched by police

A teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of rape following an alleged sex attack in a park.

The 17-year-old, from Canterbury, was arrested on Monday by police investigating reports a woman was sexually assaulted in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The teen has since been released on bail, pending further inquiries.

On Sunday, police investigating the alleged incident taped off a large section of the Dane John Gardens, with an area near the band stand guarded by officers.

Police confirmed they searched two areas of the park, along with a car park in Rheims Way, and examined CCTV footage.
