Canterbury City Council release CCTV image in hunt for Station Road West car park graffiti culprit

A CCTV image has been released after graffiti was scrawled on a car park wall.

The Station Road West multi-storey in Canterbury was targeted on November 7 last year, and the city council has been searching for those responsible to no avail.

The local authority has now gone public with its appeal and has released a CCTV image.

The picture shows a person with glasses, wearing black trousers, a black hoodie and a red body warmer.

A photo of the vandalism, which included drawings and the words ‘no escape’, has also been released.

A spokesman for Canterbury City Council added: “The incident resulted in damage to the car park that cost public money to be cleaned up.

“The council has been investigating the incident, but efforts so far to try and identify the person have proved unsuccessful, so it has now decided to go public with its appeal.

“Anyone with any information on the individual in the image should contact the council in confidence by emailing graffiti@canterbury.gov.uk or calling 01227 862249.

“Anyone who provides information that helps the council identify a graffiti vandal could be eligible for a £500 reward if it results in a successful outcome such as a prosecution.”
