Man found dead in St Peter's Street, Canterbury after police called to concern for welfare

A man has been found dead in Canterbury city centre.

Police say officers were called at around 9 this morning following "concern's for a man's welfare".

Police and ambulance services arrived but the man, whose age is not known, was confirmed dead.

A force spokesman said the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.

The cause of death is not yet known known. The man's next of kin has been informed.
