Do you rememeber health care before the NHS?

Do you remember health care before the NHS? If so, we want to hear from you.

The NHS celebrates its 60th anniversary on Saturday, July 5.

Those under the age of 60 probably take the service for granted but health care before 1948 was very different, and we would like to hear recollections and experiences of what happened before that date.

The principles of the NHS when introduced were to provide a comprehensive service paid for by taxation, available to all and free at the time of need – and that has not changed.

We would like to hear recollections and experiences of what happened before 1948. We’d also like to hear from people who were among the first to experience care under the new NHS or who worked in the fledgling service.
