Keys were in the stationary vehicle's ignition and its engine was running.

A police spokesman said: "The off-duty officer then called on-duty colleagues who attended the scene and administered a breath test.

"The man, who is in his 40s and from Gillingham, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and cultivating cannabis."

The second accusation relates to an incident in April, when officers were called to a blaze at a flat above the Marmaris off-licence in Mote Road, Maidstone.
