Police and ambulances in Waitrose car park after incident at St George's Roundabout in Canterbury

Police diverted traffic away from an emergency incident on a busy city centre roundabout.

Patrol cars and ambulances were called to the scene in St George's Place shortly after 1.30pm.

A blue VW Beetle was seen stationary next to the roundabout, but did not appear to have suffered any damage.

The area was cleared at 2pm, with two ambulances and a police car leaving the scene and parking up in the nearby Waitrose car park.
