EuroCanterbury Ladies made a losing start to the second half of the Investec Women's Hockey League Premier Division season with a 2-1 defeat against Clifton in Bristol on Saturday.
They were 2-0 down inside the opening 20 minutes, with Els Mansell and Georgina Twigg both converting penalty corners.
Canterbury had to wait until three minutes from time, before Mel Clewlow pulled one back in similar fashion.
EuroCanterbury stay third in the table, despite their fourth defeat of the season.
The game was one of only two in the top flight to beat the cold snap at the weekend.
