Imitation firearm seized and man arrested after ‘attempted burglary’ in Canterbury

An imitation firearm and other weapons were seized following reports of an attempted burglary.

On Saturday, March 9, police were called at around 2pm about a group of men behaving suspiciously outside an address in St Thomas Hill, Canterbury.

Officers attended and detained five men.

A search led to an imitation firearm, a knife and a set of bolt cutters being recovered.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm, possession of a bladed article and going equipped to steal.

He has since been bailed pending further inquiries.
