Mystery death of woman, 30s, found in public toilet in Canterbury Lane

Detectives are seeking to establish how a woman died after being found "unwell" in a public toilet.

Police and ambulance services were called last night to reports of a female in distress in a lavatory in Canterbury Lane, Canterbury.

It is thought the victim may have suffered an overdose - though police could not confirm this.

A police spokesman said the call came at 1.17am this morning.

She said: "Officers attended the public toilets and a woman aged in her thirties had become unwell. She was taken to hospital but later died.

"Investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the death."
