Faversham Town boss Ray Turner wary of Waltham Forest threat in FA Trophy

Ray Turner is not underestimating the challenge of in-form Ryman League Division 1 North Waltham Forest ahead of the FA Trophy first qualifying round tie at Ilford on Saturday.

Forest share the Cricketfield Road ground with the local club but it might be short on atmosphere if last week’s clash between tenants and landlords is anything to go by, with a crowd of only 32 watching the game.

However, they are second in the table, having won seven of their opening nine league matches and Faversham boss Turner (pictured) said: "They are flying high.

"I have had a couple of reports on them but I want us to go there and reproduce the same positive form as we showed beating Walton Casuals in the last round."

Defender Ashley Brown is out with a knee problem, with Turner unsure how long he will be sidelined.

Damian Abel returns from a one-match ban while midfielder Ben Brown has returned to Herne Bay after a month’s loan at Salters Lane. Simon Brown is unavailable.

The winners will receive prize money of £2,200.
