Oven fire at Rough Common, Canterbury

A woman was treated for the effects of breathing in smoke after an oven fire at her home.

Firefighters were called to Rough Common on the outskirts of Canterbury shortly before 10pm on Friday, January 5.

They had to battle against the oven which was "well alight" when they arrived, and then used ventilation fans to clear the house of smoke.

A woman at the house was left in the care of the ambulance service.
