A former pig farmer turned Boy George look-a-like has created a booming business for himself.

Matt Endersby, who uses the stage name Bye George, dropped into Canterbury department store Fenwicks last week to have pictures taken for his portfolio, as he prepares to do more gigs in the county.

He visited girls at the Mac makeup counter where he buys his eye liner and created quite a stir.

The father-of-two from Sittingbourne, started performing as the Culture Club star after being spotted by an agent at a friend’s costume party.

Nine months later he earns between £150 to £300 for a performance of crowd pleasers such as Karma Chameleon, compared to the £2.50 an hour he earned working in the fields.

The 42-year-old said: “I have been really shocked by just how well things have been going.

“Lots of people have been stopping me in the streets and asked if I am the real Boy George.

“The act has meant I have had to put henna tattoos on my hands and have patterns on the side of my head, so I guess I look more like him than ever before.

“I’m trying to represent his cleaner side and steer away from his previous troubles.

“Everyone has done things in their life that they shouldn’t.

“I now love going to work and it has meant I spend more time with my children.

“I have been taking singing lessons and voice coaching and I see this going from strength to strength in the future.

“My family have been really supportive and my wife is a massive fan of Boy George.

“Business tends to pick up whenever he is on television, so with his tour through Kent on the cards, I’m hoping to be fully booked.
