Glamorous student needs your vote

AS a business studies student, Odette Estelle has a head for figures - but she also boast some impressive personal statistics which she also hopes will bring her success.

Because the shapely part-time model is vying for the title of Miss Student UK which could earn her a £10,000 prize.

If she is fortunate enough to win, the 19-year-old plans to give most of her prize money to charity, including a sizeable sum to Nicole Dryburgh’s Silver Lining Appeal and The Dog’s Trust at Chestfield.

Odette, of St Andrew’s Close, Whitstable, is in her first year at Canterbury Christ Church University and does promotional work in her spare time.

This week she was taking part in a charity fashion show for the Demelza House children’s hospice at Sittingbourne.

In the on-line competition she is currently lying fourth in the south east region but hopes to raise her profile and get more votes.

She said: “It’s exciting to be doing quite well but I do need more support to win the regional finals which will be early next year.

“I am a regular reader of Nicole’s column in the Gazette and am just so impressed by what she has achieved in the face of such huge difficulties. She really is an inspiration.

“Although we have not met, we have emailed each other a few times and I have told her about the competition.

“I would also like to donate some money to the Dog’s Trust because I have my own rescue dog, Bobby who is adorable and it is so important that unwanted dogs are cared for and found good homes.”
