CCTV released of man after assault at The Westgate Inn Wetherspoons in Canterbury

CCTV images of a man police want to speak to about a serious assault at a Wetherspoons in Canterbury have been released.

The attack happened at The Westgate Inn in North Lane as the victim was walking into the pub with a friend at around 10pm on Sunday, March 17.

He was knocked to the ground and suffered multiple cuts to his face and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The suspect, along with another man, fled in the direction of the Westgate Towers.

Following a review of CCTV, several images, all believed to be the same man, have been issued by investigating detectives.

PC Gareth Foreman said: "Thank you to all who have come forward to assist with our inquiries.

"If there is anyone else who saw anything and hasn’t yet spoken to us, or knows the identity of the man pictured, we ask you to call Kent Police."
