An inquest into the death of a man found frozen to death in Herne Bay Memorial Park earlier this month has been opened and adjourned.

Andy Scullard (pictured right) was found by a dog walker just after 7.30am on Saturday, February 13.

The 54-year-old was last seen alive by his father, Donald, 89, the previous evening when he left the ground floor High Street flat that the two men shared wearing only a shirt and jeans.

A postmortem was carried out last week.

More than 800 people have joined Facebook groups paying tribute to Andy, who was a keen boxer.

A date for the funeral has yet to be arranged.

Mr Scullard snr (pictured left) said: “The phone hasn’t stopped ringing but I just wish I could be left alone to grieve in peace.

“I want the funeral to remain private and personal and just want close family there.”
