Investigations are continuing into the death of a man in a car fire on a business park in Whitstable.

The victim was found in a blazing VW Polo which had partly mounted the kerb in Boorman Way on the Estuary View park in the early hours of last Thursday.

Although he has yet to be formally identified, members of his family later attended the scene and attached a photograph, flowers and message to a lamp post nearby.

He is believed to be 27-year-old Ravishankar Sriskantharajah, who had recently moved to the area from Leicester.

Police forensic experts have carefully examined the scene and fire experts are now trying to establish why the vehicle caught light because it did not appear to have suffered any significant damage in a collision.

It is not being treated as a suspicious death.
