Iranian woman's headscarf snatched in 'race' crime

An Iranian woman was left distressed after having her hijab headscarf snatched from her head in the street.

The 37-year-old Iranian victim was walking outside The Chaucer Technology School in Spring Lane, Canterbury when somebody snatched her blue hijab from her head.

Officers are treating the case, reported by a member of the victim's family, as a racially-motivated incident, and said it was very distressing for the woman.

The suspect is male, white, 5ft 5ins with a medium build and short, straight mousey colour hair. He was wearing a light blue jean jacket, black army-style jogging bottoms and white trainers.
