The Cave Hotel teams up with Canterbury's Korean Cowgirl to offer luxurious takeaway menu

A popular smokehouse has teamed up with a luxury hotel to launch a meat-packed takeaway menu - with dishes costing up to £140.

The Cave Hotel has come together with Canterbury restaurant The Korean Cowgirl - which has the same owners and is known for its fusion of oriental cuisine with Texas-style BBQ food - to offer a range of sumptuous dishes available for drive-thru collection.

From today, fast-food fans can order Korean Cowgirl classics including wings, burgers and smoked sausages, as well as pulled pork and brisket available by the half-pound - before picking them up from The Cave, in Boughton.

Some pricier sharing dishes need to be ordered 24-hours in advance.

These include a whole smoked brisket, which at £140 is said to feed 15 people.

For £80, customers can take home a whole shoulder of smoked lamb in a honey garlic glaze, serving four to five people.

Smoked moss salt aged black Angus tomahawk steak, which serves two, is also available for £70.

A spokesman for the joint venture said: "We are excited to announce that we will be offering a take-away menu of our ever-popular Korean Cowgirl menu.

"Come and collect your favourite smoked beef brisket, pulled pork, large smoked char sui ribs or double-fried sticky chicken wings.

"Select from one of our famous Cowgirl burgers or treat yourself with one of our aged-black angus tomahawk steaks or whole-smoked lamb shoulder.

"All complete with delicious sides and boxed to keep warm for the journey home."

As well as traditional fries, coleslaw and mac and cheese are a range of more decadent sides - such as brisket burnt ends, baked miso sweet potato and "brisket pit beans" cooked in the smoker.

The Cave, based off the A2 near Canterbury on the grounds of the former Boughton Golf Club, hopes to re-open in July, with social distancing measures in place if given the go-ahead from the government.

But, like other hotels across the country, it is currently closed during the lockdown.

A spokesman said: "We take pride in serving our local community during this difficult time and we wish all of our customers, family and friends good health and look forward to seeing you again at the Cave Hotel very soon.

"Until then, we hope you enjoy the best of our Korean Cowgirl menu in the comfort of your own home."

The takeaway service will run from midday to 9pm Wednesday to Saturday, and midday to 6pm on Sundays.
