There is still time to nominate someone for the Kent Teacher of the Year Awards.

The closing date is Tuesday so if you think your or your child’s teacher deserves special recognition, make sure you nominate them.

There is a new category this year for newly qualified teachers in their first year of working in the profession.

The awards are organised by the Kent Messenger Group along with a number of community partners.

The other categories are general teaching, head teacher and science teacher.

A panel of judges will select winners in each of the 15 local authority areas including Canterbury and Swale.

The top teachers will be invited to the awards event at the Priestfield banqueting rooms at Gillingham Football Club.

Awards sponsors include Canterbury Christ Church University, Hays Education, Denne Construction, KCC, Pfizer, Gillingham Football Club and Mark Pantony technical services.
