Man charged after Canterbury East train station knife attack

A man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm after a knife attack in Canterbury.

The victim, aged in his 40s, suffered an injury to his back when he was attacked with a blade near Canterbury East railway station just after 9am yesterday.

It is understood the incident happened on the bridge that connects the station to the Dane John Garden, providing a quick route into the city.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment, while police rushed to the scene and seized a knife.

Anthony Angelo Delle Tenebre, of no fixed address, was later arrested and has since been charged with causing grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife.

The 36-year-old is due to appear before Medway Magistrates' Court today.
