Car crashes and overturns in Oaten Hill Place, Canterbury

A man was trapped after his car flipped onto its roof in a residential street in Canterbury.

The red Citroen C5 ploughed into a 2ft garden wall before hitting a parked Nissan Micra and overturning in Oaten Hill Place just before 6pm.

Police, ambulance and fire crews were called to the scene and the man was cut free.

He is not thought to be seriously injured.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called to a report that a car had overturned in Oaten Hill Place, Canterbury, at 5.55pm on Tuesday 23 May 2017.

"The South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service were also called.

"At present no serious injuries have been reported however officers currently remain at the scene, where they are conducting enquiries and assisting with traffic management."

Witnesses reported seeing up to 20 emergency vehicles in the narrow street, near the Old City Bar.
