No arrests two months after teenage boy ‘raped’ in Dane John Gardens toilets in Canterbury

Police are yet to make any arrests after a teenage boy was reportedly raped in a park’s public toilet almost two months ago.

Detectives released an e-fit image after the alleged attack on a 17-year-old in Dane John Gardens, near Canterbury’s city centre.

The perpetrator reportedly spoke to the teenager inside the park before raping him, it is claimed.

Following further inquiries after the incident was reported to the force, officers believe the incident took place between 5pm and 6pm on Monday, February 5.

But no arrests have been made so far.

And police have now issued an update on their investigation.

Det Insp Richard Palmer, of the East Kent Vulnerability Investigation Team, said: “Following a really positive response to our witness and e-fit appeal, my officers have a number of lines of inquiry to follow up in relation to the reported rape which took place in the public toilets in Dane John Gardens on February 5.

“Investigations into the incident very much continue but I would like to record my thanks to those who have come forward to help with our inquiries.”

Officers say the suspect is described as white, about 6ft tall, in his late 30s and was wearing a dark hooded top and grey-blue jogging bottoms.
