Pensioner hit by car in Canterbury

A pensioner has suffered a head injury after being hit by a car in Canterbury.

Emergency services were called to the scene just after 10am following the incident in Woodville Close in Wincheap.

Police confirmed a man in his 70s had been hit by a car and received treatment at the scene for a head injury.

An air ambulance attended but the man was taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford by road.

Traffic was stopped, causing long delays.
