Pensioner hurt by thrown stone

A pensioner needed hospital treatment after being hit on the head by a stone thrown by a yob.

The 72-year-old was first abused by a group of four boys while sitting with her husband in the beach near the skate park in Marine Crescent at Tankerton.

Then a stone was thrown by one of them which hit her on the forehead causing a wound which needed several stitches.

The offender was aged about 14, had short dark brown hair and was wearing a dark t-shirt and shorts. The other boys were about 10 and all were pushing two wheel silver scooters

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened at about 2.15pm on Sunday, April 24.
