Police appeal for information after teenager attacked in city

Police are appealing for information after a 19-year-old man was attacked in Canterbury city centre.

The teenager was making his way home in the Hawks Lane area of St Margaret's Street at around 2am on Tuesday, February 7, when he was approached by two men.

One of the men punched him in the face and he fell to the ground and lost consciousness, waking up to find cuts and bruises to his face and chipped teeth.

The first offender is described as a black man, aged in his mid 20s around 6ft tall with a medium build. He had a full face with short black hair and a short dark beard. He was wearing a dark leather jacket.

The other offender is described as a white man in his mid 20s. He was shorter than the other attacker and was wearing a woollen cap with a red band around it and a black body warmer.

Anyone who witnessed anything that night or has any other information is asked to call Kent Police on 101 quoting reference ZY/3584/12 or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
