A major route has been closed by police following a crash involving three vehicles.

Two people were taken to hospital following the incident on New Dover Road in Canterbury on Tuesday evening.

The road between the Premier Inn junction with Upper Chantry Lane and Lower Chantry Lane up to the Old Gate pub on the roundabout with Old Dover Road was closed while police and paramedics attended.

A collision involving two cars and a van caused the closure at 5.30pm.

No serious injuries were reported and the road was reopened shortly after 7pm.
