Police make arrests after attempted robbery at Sainsbury's in Kingsmead, Canterbury

Police have arrested two men and a woman after an alleged attempted robbery at a supermarket's foreign currency counter.

Officers were called to Sainsbury's in Kingsmead Road, Canterbury, on Friday after a staff member reported being threatened by a man.

A police appeal and CCTV images were released on Monday of three people detectives wanted to speak to in connection with the incident.

The following day a 25-year-old man from Whitstable, a 20-year-old woman from Canterbury and a 19-year-old man from Canterbury handed themselves in at the city's police station.

They were subsequently arrested on suspicion of robbery and have been bailed until Monday.
