Cannabis, phones and cash seized in raid on student digs in Park Wood Road, Canterbury,

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on a university campus on suspicion of being a drug dealer.

It follows a police raid on an address in Park Wood Road on the University of Kent campus on Monday by officers investigating drug use and supply in residential areas.

Officers seized a quantity of suspected herbal cannabis as well as mobile phones and cash.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis with intent to supply and later released on bail until Friday, May 5 pending further inquiries.

PC Chris Birmingham said: "This arrest was the latest action in our ongoing fight against illegal drugs.

"We take illegal drug use and supply extremely seriously and urge people worried about drugs in their neighbourhood to tell us so we can take action."
