Powercuts strike Whitstable

More than 1,600 homes in the Whitstable area suffered a power cut for up to two hours on Friday morning after a fault on an overhead distribution network interrupted electricity supplies.

Properties in the Deborah Close area were mostly affected but engineers for EDF Energy restored supplies to most users by 10am.

Work was continued throughout the morning to reconnect the remaining properties.
