Man punched and robbed in Birchwood Walk, Canterbury

Police are investigating after a man reported being violently robbed in the early hours.

It is said to have happened in Birchwood Walk, Canterbury, when the victim was walking home at around 2am on Saturday night.

He was attacked from behind and knocked to the ground and then punched in the face by a man who demanded his phone and then took an MP3 player from him.

The victim has told police that minutes earlier he had witnessed a man hitting another man in nearby Forty Acres Road and intervened before walking away from the incident.
