Sturry Road crash leaves motorcyclist injured and sparks heavy traffic

A motorcyclist has been injured after coming off his bike along Sturry Road in Canterbury this morning.

Traffic was at a standstill along the busy rush-hour route, which was shut in both directions.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene, with witnesses telling how the injured biker received treatment in the road.

A police spokesman said officers were called to reports the motorcyclist had come off his bike shortly after 8.30am near the junction with Brymore Road.

He was taken to hospital, but the extent of his injuries is not known.

The road reopened shortly before 11am.
