A letter from executive principal Jon Watson reads: "The Canterbury Academy has been made aware that a family member associated with our school community is now a confirmed case of Covid-19.

"The member of our school community is well, continues to display no symptoms, and they are self-isolating at home as a precautionary measure for 14 days.

"The school has been in close discussion with, and is following advice from Public Health England.

"At this time, there is no further action for the school to take.

"Should this change, Public Health England will be working closely with the school and we will inform."

Mr Watson couldn't confirm to KentOnline how the affected person was connected to the secondary school.

It comes after a number of pupils from Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School in Faversham self-isolated yesterday.
