Suspected Canterbury drug dealer charged after police officer bitten

A suspected drug dealer has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker after allegedly biting a police officer.

Officers stopped a car in the Littlebourne Road, Canterbury, on Sunday evening after suspicious behaviour was reported.

Following an investigation, Mohamed Ahmed has been charged with possessing heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply and possession of cannabis.

The 21-year-old, of Burma Crescent, Canterbury, has also been charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker, in relation to one officer being bitten and another sustaining an arm injury on the same evening.

Mr Ahmed appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court yesterday and was remanded in custody to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, April 11.
