Canterbury rape suspects released without charge

Four teenagers arrested on suspicion of raping a young woman have been released without charge.

Two men, aged 18 and 19, and two 17-year-old boys were taken into custody yesterday morning.

They were quizzed over the alleged rape of a woman in her late teens at a house in Downs Road, Canterbury, at some time before 2am.

The woman had travelled to the area from Station Road East and is not thought to know those arrested.

Detectives, who set up a large cordon in the street, have confirmed the four teenagers arrested have been released, but they say the incident is still under investigation.
