A28 Wincheap crash off Canterbury ring-road causing traffic delays

The A28 through Wincheap has been closed in both directions following a heavy crash just off Canterbury's ring-road.

Three police cars are at the scene, blocking off the stretch beneath the railway bridge between the Maidens Head pub and Wincheap Roundabout.

The three-car crash is causing delays on both the city's ring-road and the main route through Wincheap.

Airbags in an Audi have been set off as a result of the smash, which also involved a Lexus and a Toyota.

One person suffered injuries and has been taken to hospital.

Police were alerted to the crash just before 11.10am.

The road will remain shut to allow for recovery work.
