Thug hunted after two chilling assaults

KENT Police are investigating two attacks in which one man was bitten on the nose and another smashed in the face with a glass bottle.

Both attacks took place in Canterbury and are thought to have been committed by the same thug. .

The first happened in the Dane John Gardens between 9pm and 9.20pm on Wednesday of last week.

A 24-year-old man walking through the gardens made a comment about a group of men sitting in the bandstand. One of the group walked over to him, punched him in the face twice and struck him with a bottle.

Bleeding and clutching his face, the victim ran out of the park. He needed stitches in hospital for cuts to his face.

Between 10.15pm and 10.35pm, a 20-year-old man was walking along St George’s Place when he made a comment about a car with a loud exhaust that passed him.

Soon afterwards a man with blond hair appeared, swore at him and punched him. He then pulled him close and bit him the nose. The victim needed stitches to his nose.

In both incidents the attacker was white and had a northern accent. Anyone with information is asked to telephone PC Elly Miller on 01227 817154.
