Tom Jones singing star and judge of The Voice comes to Canterbury

Legendary Sixties singing star and TV’s The Voice judge Sir Tom Jones is coming to Canterbury.

It will be his first visit to the city.

Sir Tom, now 76, has sold more than 100 million records, with hits such as Delilah and It’s Not Unusual.

He will be performing at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, home to Kent County Cricket Club, on Saturday, July 8.

He said: “I am really looking forward to coming to the lovely cathedral city of Canterbury.

“I love doing outdoor shows and being able to perform at the Spitfire Ground is fantastic.

"It promises to be a great night so I hope everyone comes out to enjoy this show in this beautiful venue.”

Jamie Clifford, CEO of Kent County Cricket Club, said: “We are looking forward to his visit. Sir Tom is a renowned live performer.”

Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 3, at 9am.

They are priced at £35, £49.50, and £69.50, from Ticketmaster.

Sir Tom is not the first star to have played the Kent County Cricket Club ground. Previous performers have included Elton John, Simply Red and Bryan Adams.
