Police say a man found dead in a city park yesterday morning was a 26-year-old from Canterbury who had earlier been reported missing.

Officers were called to Beverley Meadow in St Stephen's after he was discovered by a passer-by shortly before 9am.

He was confirmed dead at the scene and his next of kin has been informed.

Police say there are no suspicious circumstances and the death has been reported to coroner.
